Non Executive Director
Bringing more than two decades of international board experience both as an executive director and non-executive for a major listed companies, mid-caps, start-ups and not for profits, with a focus on risk management, corporate governance and strategy.
As an Executive Director in blue chip firms, balancing the competing challenges of day-to-day management and the longer-term, strategically oriented business decisions created challenges, while also bringing insights and an appreciation of the impact board decisions have on an organisation’s culture, operational execution and the successful pursuit of objectives.
As a non-executive director, it takes a different mindset to bring insight, challenge and independence of mind to deliver value and results in the boardroom. Leveraging a successful executive career combined with a passion for risk management and good governance brings greater insight, clarity and accountability to my boardroom roles.
Advising boards is about being a mentor and sounding board, filling performance gaps and bridging the board’s capability gaps by providing them with the expertise they need to perform.
Key competencies and board practice specialities include:
- Transformation, including Digital
- CRO, Risk Committees, Risk Framework
- Corporate Governance
- Risk, Audit, Strategy Committees
- Crisis Management
- Business Continuity Management
- M&As, Integration.
A member of the Institute of Directors (IoD).

Strategy
A large part of my career has been involved in setting and executing strategy for organisations both as an executive and as a member of the board.
From a boardroom perspective setting and overseeing the strategy is perhaps the most important aspect of what a director does.
For executives having the right level of input, insight, support and direction in executing the strategy are all critical elements of success.
Strategy is just as important to a blue chip firm with a large budget and high risk appetite as it is to a start up with a good idea and a committed team of enthusiastic entrepreneurs watching every last dollar.
Some of the strategy initiatives throughout my career include major transformation programmes, diversification initiatives, acquisitions and mergers, divestments, small and mid cap growth strategies, and turn-arounds of failing business units and businesses.
The one common theme is succeeding is a shared vision and a string belief in what an organisation sets out to do.
I bring insight and clarity to organisations by supporting them with the competency and confidence they need to succeed.
